Coach Of UFC 251 Fighter Tests Positive For COVID-19

The coach of a fighter competing at the UFC 251 pay-per-view event has tested positive for COVID-19. 

Paulian Paiva’s head coach, Ronildo Nobre has tested positive for COVID-19. Paiva will fight Zhalgas Zhumagulov at UFC 251.

According to reports from Ag Fight and MMA Fighting, Nombre and his family contracted the coronavirus in Brazil. Paiva has tested negative so the fighter has still been cleared to travel to Abu Dhabi. The good news is that the fight is still on. 

The UFC 251 pay-per-view event is set to take place on Saturday, July 11th, 2020 from Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island aka Fight Island.

A welterweight title defense by champion Kamaru Usman against Gilbert Burns will in fact headline the show.
