Now, Dana White isn’t ruling out a potential come back by Conor McGregor.
Ever since the former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion announced his “retirement” from the sport back in June, the UFC president has stated that McGregor is retired.
Conor McGregor To Come Back?
He did so again but right before he shared his thoughts that McGregor could make a return.
“Conor McGregor is retired,” Dana White said to CNN. “You never know. Listen, it makes a lot of sense for him to come back at the right time. I don’t know when the right time is yet. I’m trying to get to January 1. That’s my goal this year, is to get to January 1 without anything blowing up anymore this year in 2020. I can’t wait for 2020 to be gone. This will go down as the worst year in history, ever.”
According to Ariel Helwani, the UFC isn’t keen booking McGregor in a fight this year because there’s no live gate due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For more on that, click here.
Ravens POV: It appears that White knows the game that McGregor is playing. The former champ wants to fight but not during the COVID-19 era. Once fight fans are able to get back to the arenas then I see him fighting again.
