Although Darren Till put on an impressive performance in his latest fight, he also suffered an injury.
We noted that he blew out his knee when he lost to Robert Whittaker by decision in a middleweight bout at the UFC On ESPN 14 event on Saturday night at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island aka Fight Island.
Darren Till Injury Report
Till’s coach gave ESPN some additional details as to what exactly went wrong and the injury.
“Torn MCL, doctors are amazed he was able to stand up for the last three rounds,” Till’s coach Colin Heron told ESPN, via text. “He is in a cast for six weeks then we’ll reassess, hopefully it will start to knit while immobilized.”
Till is now 1-1 since moving to middleweight.
Ravens POV: Considering that this could’ve been worse, this is slightly positive news. The way I look at it is that Till can take this time and reflect on the loss in hopes of learning what went wrong and how to approve. That’s not to say that he didn’t have an impressive performance against an elite fighter like Whittaker.
