Dustin Poirier has provided the latest on the status of a rumored fight against Tony Ferguson and why it’s being held up.
We told you last month that UFC boss Dana White did say that Ferguson’s next opponent was “probably” Poirier, who is also a former interim lightweight champion.
It’s been reported that Ferguson has verbally agreed to the terms proposed by the UFC, but the holdup is Porier. This fight is supposed to be the co-headliner of UFC 254.

The top contender said in a recent interview that he wants to be paid like a prize fighter.
“I’m in,” Poirier told ESPN. “… I just need to be compensated if they want this fight. Simple as that. I’m a prize fighter and the prize needs to be right.”
The UFC and Poirier have still been unable to come to terms for the fight. With the event getting closer to happening, time is running out.
