Dustin Poirier Doesn’t Like Fans Downplaying ‘Dangerous’ Dan Hooker

Dustin Poirier vs. Dan Hooker in a lightweight bout will headline the UFC on ESPN 12 event.

For fans looking to downplay how dangerous Hooker is, the title contender has some words for you. He thinks Hooker is a real threat and is taking him seriously.

“I don’t like that, honestly,” Poirier told MMA Junkie. “This guy is dangerous. This guy is a top opponent a top-five ranked fighter in the UFC for a reason. I don’t look past anybody. This guy is the only thing I’m focused on right now. 25 minutes with Hooker and we’ll see what happens. I don’t like the fact that fans and stuff are just passing him over because this is a dangerous guy I’ve been preparing very seriously for.”

UFC on ESPN 12 is set to take place on Saturday, June 27, 2020 from Las Vegas, Nevada at the UFC APEX. The main card will air on ESPN at 8p.m. ET. The preliminary card will be split broadcasted on ESPN the TV network’s streaming service, ESPN+ at 5p.m. ET.
