Kamaru Usman vs. Gilbert Burns is looking more and more likely.
In November, Combate reported that the fight was looking to take place on February 13th. Now, today, ESPN is reporting the same, which would be at UFC 258. The UFC has yet to confirm the news.
Burns tested positive for COVID-19 and as a result, he was out of his scheduled fight at UFC 251 with welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, which was supposed to serve as the main event. Jorge Masvidal stepped in and lost to the champ.
“Kamaru Usman (@USMAN84kg) vs. Gilbert Burns (@GilbertDurinho) for Usman’s welterweight title has been verbally agreed to for UFC 258 on Feb. 13, per sources. Been looking forward to this one.”
