Leon Edwards tried his best to stay in the main event spot on the UFC Fight Island 7 card.
He was supposed to fight Khamzat Chimaev at the show, but the rising contender pulled out due to COVID-19.
Leon Edwards Claims UFC Declined His Offer To Fight Two Names
According to Edwards, he proposed to fight two names at this show, but the UFC shot down the offer.
“I offered to fight Neil or Chiesa in the main event Jan. 20 and Chimaev straight after, but the UFC decided against it,” Edwards commented on an Instagram post.
Edwards’ fight with Chimaev is supposed to take place in the first quarter of the year.
