Brandon Moreno is ready to move on.
Now that he has won the UFC interim flyweight championship, the Mexican star is eager to rest his feud with Deiveson Figueiredo. At UFC 277 on Saturday, Moreno defeated Kai Kara-France via TKO to claim the title.
With the win, a fourth fight with Figueiredo is currently scheduled. They have traded the uncontested championship at 125 pounds, and their championship rivalry is tied at 1-1-1 between them.
Brandon Moreno not thrilled with his direction following UFC 277
“It’s not like, ‘Oh, I want to fight against Deiveson Figueiredo again,’” Moreno told reporters at the UFC 277 post-fight news conference. “I’m not excited. I’m done with him.
“But it is what it is. He’s the champion, so I want to fight against him. So I promise I just want to finish my business with him and then the next challenger, I’ll be ready for him.”
