Dana White believes the third fight between Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko would be appropriate.
This past Saturday’s main event of UFC 277 saw Amanda Nunes retain the women’s bantamweight title after dominating Julianna Pea in their rematch at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
Dana White is open to booking this UFC trilogy fight
The undisputed best female fighter of all time has returned to the top as a dual champion and invited flyweight champion Shevchenko to move up and compete against her. It also appears that White is on board.
Shevchenko is two wins behind Nunes. In their rematch at UFC 215 in September 2017, she barely defeated her. White is prepared to give “The Lioness” anything she requests, as she previously stated that she wanted to defend her featherweight belt next.
“Yeah, that’s not a bad idea,” Dana White told MMA Junkie at the UFC 277 post-fight news conference. “Normally, I would say, ‘Come on, man.’ That’s not a bad idea, I mean, when you really think about it. I’m not saying yes. I’m just saying it’s not a bad idea.”
“Very (likely),” Dana White said of that possibility. “I mean, we’ll figure it out. She’s the double-champ. I love the kid. I have a great relationship with her. She’s been amazing to work with and I’ll do whatever she wants to do.”
