Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane squared off for the UFC 270 championship, and Ciryl Gane feels that the champion won because of his superior experience.

Gane defeated Tai Tuivasa at UFC Paris last month, showing off his outstanding ability to bounce back from his setback to Ngannou in January.

Gane has put himself back in the title race with his win over heavyweight Tuivasa, who is rated third. In twelve professional fights, he had won eleven of them, and the 32-year-old is set to face Ngannou one more soon.

He stated at the UFC Paris post-fight press conference that he doesn’t think Ngannou actually beat him in their January title match and that his victory was the consequence of his experience rather than actual skill.

Since his UFC debut in late 2019, He has a 6-1 record. The 32-year-old, who has only been fighting professionally for just more than four years, defeated Derrick Lewis to win an interim title, becoming the first Frenchman to win UFC gold.

“I think Francis did very well because he had more experience, more maturity…so he did a really great [job],” said Gane. “I don’t think he was really better than me on [that] day, but he did really better. So if tomorrow I have my revenge, I must do a better [job].”
