Former UFC champ Frank Mir wants retirement fight

Frank Mir wants one final bout to cap off his illustrious fighting career.

The former heavyweight champion of the UFC is aware of the destination. He has, however, been concentrating on his daughter Bella Mir’s career for the past few years since she is now unbeaten in mixed martial arts competition.

Frank defeated Roy Nelson in a rematch at Bellator 231 by unanimous decision to end his four-fight losing run. After his Bellator contract was over, he switched to boxing, something he had always wanted to do.

He got thrown to the wolves in the boxing scene, which was unfortunate for him. He lost a unanimous decision in his first boxing match against Steve Cunningham. Then, at Triad Combat, he would compete against multiple-time heavyweight champion Kulbrat Pulev and lose through first-round knockout.

“I’m trying to heal up a lot of my injuries and stuff and take this seriously. Next year, I’m gonna go and fight again because I actually want to fight once on the same card with Bella as my last fight,” Mir told Brendan Schaub during Fight Night Flashbacks. “She can headline the card — I can open it … How many times is that going to happen in history?”
